I am a reader. Been reading since 3. Lean heavily towards romance, but sci-fi, mystery, horror, phone book, encyclopedia, or instruction manual will do in a pinch.

To Love, Honor and Betray (Harlequin Presents)

To Love, Honor and Betray - Jennie Lucas I liked the story. Fast paced, sexy, and a very exciting read. Sometimes, a man does what he thinks is best, but not always what he wants. Eduardo might of had reasons to doubt himself in a relationship, but Callie might seem to be a shrinking violet, but sometimes that is the best way in to the heart of the man you love.

The Mighty Quinns: Kieran (Harlequin Blaze)

The Mighty Quinns: Kieran (Harlequin Blaze) - Kate Hoffmann The grandfather of Dermot Quinn has decided to send all four of his grandsons out in to the world to see life from another perspective. Six weeks away from the life they knew. He wanted for them to have the chance to see the life they could have, and not just the one they had. Dermot ended up on a dairy-goat farm in Mapleton, Wisconsin. There, he took on the task of being the ranch hand for Rachel Howe. The story didn't realy 'send' me. I found I was left with a lot of questions. Like the story was written one way, and then gone back over to go another with the old pieces still left there dangling. Overall, OK, just...limp.

Celebrity In Death

Celebrity In Death - J.D. Robb Eve Dallas and Roarke have settled down. This is the story of the movie remake from the famous Icove incident. Of course, murder rears it's ugly head and Eve and her gang must pull together to find the guilty one. This is definately the most sedate of the novels in the series. No major fight scenes, or major love scenes. Roarke and Eve are at peace with themselves and everyone else. No great battle even with Summerset. It would seem that the maturity of the series is showing. Overall, it was OK. I like to see how the people have grown. How they interact.

Rules of Engagement: The Reasons for MarriageThe Wedding PartyUnlaced (Hqn)

Rules of Engagement: The Reasons for MarriageThe Wedding PartyUnlaced - Stephanie Laurens, Kasey Michaels, Delilah Marvelle A trio of stories. Not much more than that comes to mind. The first was too long, the second just odd, and the third was weird. They amount to a 2.5 star for me. None were too particularly enjoyable and do not encourage me to read more from the authors. (I still will, but then, I read everything.)

Samurai Game (Game/Ghostwalker)

Samurai Game - Christine Feehan Hot, hot, hot! Very fast paced. A wonderful combination of demure and sultry meeting fierce and sexy. Sam Johnson has been a GhostWalker for a long time. He knows the honor and duty that he must fulfill for his country and team come before himself. He is expendable. But meeting and falling fast and furious for Azami "Thorn" Yoshiie leads them both to find that to each other, they are not expendable. Azami was a Dr Whitney throw-away. Raised by her adopted father in the life of a samarui, Azami works to take control of her life. She knows that wanting to rid the world of Dr. Whitney does not mean she will succeed, but she throws her heart in to trying to accomplish her goal. A really enjoyable addition to the GhostWalker saga.

Fifty Shades Trilogy: Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker, Fifty Shades Freed 3-volume Boxed Set

Fifty Shades Trilogy: Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker, Fifty Shades Freed 3-volume Boxed Set - E.L. James Overall, I can see the potential. 3.5 stars. Anastasia Steele is being tempted in to an alternate lifestyle by the gorgeous Christian Grey. Christian has demons in his past that he has learned to handle by a very specific mode, he is the Master. Finding himself drawn to Ana, he wants her to join him as his new Submissive. Of course, AFTER a Non-Disclosure Agreement and a Dominant/Submissive Contract with rules and punishments all signed. Ana... If she lived a hundred years ago, I believe she would have been eaten by a bear. Extremely naive does not even begin to cover it. Christian, possessive, agressive, a little too controlled, but you can get a sense of WHY he is like that. You catch glimpses of his past to see where he is coming from. The best parts are the emails back and forth. They are humorous, cute, and inciteful.

Gilded Secrets (Harlequin Desire)

Gilded Secrets - Maureen Child Charlotte Potter lives a life with a secret past. She is determined to do right by her young son, but a blackmailer puts everything at risk. But she does not know if she can betray the man she has fallen for, her boss, Vance Waverly. Vance has a family history to protect. The auction house his Uncle had started, is the most important thing in his life. He will do anything to protect it. But his new secretary stirs him to want to protect her too. Her and her little boy. He just isn't sure what from. Overall, I thought it was OK. Alittle too cliche. Her father and the father of her son were basically cut from the same cloth and met the same ends. Too contrived for me.

When May Follows (Best of Betty Neels)

When May Follows - Betty Neels What can I say, but that I enjoyed the story. Katrina Bennett might have been a tall, full-figured woman, but beside the Professor Baron Raf van Tellerinck she felt almost dainty. Being a nurse, she knew responsibility and a calm, business like fashion went far to smooth her life out. Finding herself engaged, and shortly married to Raf, she now had to learn to be a wife. A wife for a very quiet, calm man. A man she loved, but was unsure if that was what her new role in life should entail. Raf might be a masterful surgeon, but he has much to learn about the lovely Kate. Trying to win her love was almost their relationships undoing.

The Good, the Bad and the Wild (Harlequin Presents Extra)

The Good, the Bad and the Wild - Heidi Rice A nice, light, easy story. Eva Redmond has waited 24 years to break out of the quiet, peaceful, even dull life she has always lived. Meeting Nick Delisantro in person makes all her past daydreams of romance pale in comparison. Nick might have made a success of his life, but he has shadows and secrets that he would rather not acknowledge. not even to himself. Having the unexperienced, but passionate Eva set his world on end, he has to finally accept himself, or lose her forever.

A Certain Wolfish Charm

A Certain Wolfish Charm - Lydia Dare Really, really enjoyed this book. Simon Westfield might be the Duke of Westfield, with an extremely sinful reputation, but he his more than taken down by the lovely Lily Rutledge. Despite her belief that she is firmly on-the-shelf at almost 24, she is still drawn to the enigmatic Simon and his beastly behavior. Still, she knows that she needs his assistance with his charge, and her nephew, to help her with Oliver's sudden surliness ansd physical changes. With no brothers in her life, she is not quite sure the changes he seems to be going thru are normal. Simon knows all too well the changes that Oliver is about to face. Knowing that the loss of his cousin had left the lad without the neccessary guidance, he finds himself in a more hands on roll. The initiation in to the Lycan life is not without risks. Risks he fears will drive the woman he loves from him when she sees the beast he truly is. Lily knows Simon has his secrets. She also knows that the kind of secrets he is hiding could lead to the destruction of their young marriage. She had watched her sister suffer before her sudden death, and she was not going to let the man she loved escape from her.

Coming Up Roses

Coming Up Roses - Catherine Anderson In a word, wonderful. Kate Blakely is a widow with secrets. Having the new neighbor and his dog burst in to her life is not what she wants. She has a young daughter to protect. Having to turn to that same new neighbor to rescue her trapped daughter brings more than she expects in to her troubled life. Zachariah McGovern finds the young widow to be a fascinating mix. Her young daughter, Miranda, worms her way in to his heart at lightning speed. Saving her from a rattlesnake infested well might have been the death of him, except for the determination of her mom, Kate. As secrets and threats swirl around them, Kate and Zach work to forge a new life. A strong life together.

Against the Sun (Raines of Wind Canyon)

Against the Sun - Kat Martin Sage Dumont might be a rich, worldwise business woman, but having to deal with all the ins and outs of the Saudi Arabian deal she is working on is almost too much. Having the addition of the super sexy bodyguard, Jake Cantrell stirring up her life, Sage finds there is more than just business to life. Jake had expected a rich socialite when he took on the job of protecting Sage Dumont. As time went on, he realized there were hidden depths to the woman he just needed to explore. For the most part, I really liked the story. I didn't understand why Sage kept ignoring Jake's warnings about Roshan, but I did enjoy the story.

Noelle

Noelle - Diana Palmer Noelle Brown was away from home, caring for her sick uncle, when Galveston was destroyed by a hurricane. Her entire family had been killed, leaving her with the tragic memories of identifying them, and still living in the city, fearing the next storm. When a distant cousin appears and invites her to leave and live with him and his grandmother, she works hard to fit in. Andrew might be a dashing man, but he lacks true character. He is more than willing to have Noelle in his home, but she tends to be an embarrassment to him with her unsocial graces. But, she is pretty enough, he belives he can convince her to become his mistress. Andrew's stepbrother, Jared Dunn is more than just cityfied lawyer he presents. Having a long history involving gunfights, the Rangers, and military service, Jared provides for his grandmother and frivolous stepbrother, Andrew. Finding the fiesty newcomer, Noelle in his home, sets in motion the fulfillment of his dreams, even before he knows he has them. A very enjoyable story. A little thrown off by the time frame with the going back and forth between gunfights and horseback riding to the typewriter and telephone. It all seemed just a little weird.

The Ideal Man

The Ideal Man - Julie Garwood Really enjoyable. Fast paced, sexy, just the right mix of intrigue. Dr. Ellie Sullivan knows all about isolation and fear. Hiding out from a mad stalker who has tried to kill her since she was a child, Ellie became a trauma doctor to help others in need. Coming across an FBI sting while on a run, she helps to save FBI Agent Sean Goodman while catching sight of the wanted bad guys. Coming up against the handsome Agent Max Daniels, Ellie is drawn in, even though she knows it is only for a brief fling. Max Daniels is intrigued by the mystery behind Ellie Sullivan. A deeply compassionate woman, she is separated from her family by a stalker that has managed to keep escaping justice for his misdeeds. Finding out that she is also the target from the ruthless Landry couple, he sets himself up as her protector. The family dynamics of Ellie and her family add a great twist to the story. The addition of Max's family story is great.

Undone by His Touch (Harlequin Presents Extra)

Undone by His Touch - Annie West Declan Carstairs lives in a world of darkness and despair. Feeling as if he has let down his younger brother when Adrian chose death over living. Declan vowed to find the woman whom he believed help to contribute to Adrian's depression. Chloe Daniels desparately needed her job as housekeeper for Declan Carstairs, but after the ordeal his brother had put her thru before his death, she was not sure she could remain. Drawn in by the charisma eminating from Declan, Chloe finds herself beginning to live again. So many years had passed since the tragic death of her husband, she found herself falling for the strength and love she knew Declan kept hidden. Really nice.

The Perils of Pursuing a Prince (Desperate Debutantes)

The Perils of Pursuing a Prince - Julia London Greer Fairchild has journeyed to the remote Welsh countryside to seek out the Prince of Powys in the hopes of finding out some remnants of an inheritance that she can claim. It trying to escape her step-uncle's mandates to control her, and her cousins futures, Greer wants to try and stand on her own without a man guiding her life. Rhodrick Glendower is the Prince of Powys. His large size, intimating demeanor, and the scars he bears contributed to his nickname of Goliath. Growing up, he had always felt an outsider, but he had a few true friends. After the death of his wife and newborn daughter, he retreated from life, but the appearance of Greer has brought color and laughter back to it. Absolutely love the inneractions between Greer and Rhodrick. The fact that she eventually sees him and not his reputation or scars is wonderful.
