Brenna has always been the one sister that the grapes seemed to speak to. Growing up at the family winery, working the vineyards, Brenna always placed the family, then the wine above everything else. When as a teenager, she fell in love with her family nemesis, Nic, she couldn't leave behind her family and marry him.
Nic believed in the wine, but he did not have a family. His parents had never wanted him, leaving him on his grandfather's doorsteps at the age of four. After their death, he had only his grandfather and the vineyards, but when he fell in love with Brenna, he sacrificed it all to be with her, but she betrayed his love and placed her family and the winery above him. He vowed to buy the winery and have his revenge, he would have what she wanted most.
Brenna fought against her grandfather trying to prove that even though she was not a man, she could provide all the care the winery needed. Having the long lost son of the family show up added to the stress she was going thru. Going thru a divorce from a man she didn't love, and reconnecting with Nic, made her realise all she had given up by being young and afraid to believe their love could conquer all.
A very good story.
