When Penny's ex-husband approached her to be the new chef for the failing family restaurant, she really wanted to gloat. Having been rejected while they were married for a job, he was now needing her help. She was now over him, pregnant, and happy with her life.
Cal knew having Penny around would be difficult. There were a lot of family secrets in the closet, and he knew she would be upset, but as each came to light, she was still there beside him.
Having miscarried her first child while married to Cal, Penny was hoping everything would work out this time. She didn't mind being a single mom, but having Cal around was nice. Finding out he had a daughter he had never told her about, made her realise he never truly loved her, and she was still in love with him.
Cal faces up to the family secrets, and the biggest being he need Penny and her love. They could all be a family, despite blood, and there was enough love in him for everyone.
