Jean-Luc already had the death of his wife on his hands, he did not feel he had anything left to give. Finding Abby, and beginning to feel again was more than he could bear. What would he do if he destroyed a woman he felt so strongly for when he had already destroyed one he did not love.
A story that should have been good, did not even make mediocre. A very disjointed writing style in the beginning completely undermined the entire thing. Never really believed in the characters, just a waste of time.
